We picked up a copy in a store on a trip to Maine, but you can find it here: Dahlias Puzzle by Workman Publishing. The solid color background is challenging but the puzzle as a whole was lots of fun to do. Frances Palmer is also a potter and I assume these are her vases … Read more
Another Eurographics puzzle, this time a dozen portraits of dogs by Lucia Heffernan: Funny Dogs. Not sure where I actually bought my copy. 1000 pieces, finished size 19.25″ by 26.625″ (19 and 1/4 x 26 and 5/8ths inches). Bright vibrant colors, and enough variations in textures to make it interesting – lots of great detail … Read more

I love Amber Case's framing of "truthy" tech: hype-driven technologies that promise too much too soon, are driven by FOMO, and are intriguing because of their depictions in popular culture. There are plenty of examples to choose from right now, and this is a great guide to spotting them. #Technology https://caseorganic.medium.com/how-to-identify-truthy-tech-trends-70f553c5a445?utm_source=werd.io&utm_campaign=mastodon&utm_channel=mastodon
Another one we picked up on a trip to Maine: License Plates by White Mountain Puzzles. Lots of colorful detail and high quality make – if (like me) you used to play the license plate game on road trips you may have an advantage. Maybe because White Mountain Puzzles made it, feels like there is … Read more
Via Amazon, Auguste Renoir Luncheon of the Boating Party puzzle. Like many licensed artworks, there may be multiple versions of this available as a puzzle – the one I did was the EuroGraphics one which was a solid quality puzzle (albeit without a photo insert, so you have to keep looking at the box cover). … Read more
Picked this puzzle up at a store in Maine on a trip to Kennebunk, but you can find it online: Notes of Blue from Piecework Puzzles. They’ve got a beautiful soft feel and are made on high quality art paper, so really look great in person.
Not sure where we picked this one up: Eurographics Puzzle: State Birds Started with the edges, then the title postcard in the top left, then the “stamps” because those were easier to sort out, then the state names and flags, then the bird illustrations, then filling in the gaps. It’s a great looking puzzle – … Read more
Started the day today with Iona Holloway at Creative Mornings Boston – fantastic and moving talk. I’ll make a note to link to the video when it’s available. Iona’s the author of Ghost: Why Perfect Women Shrink and the founder of Soul Breathwork. I won’t even try to tell her story here, but she’s a … Read more
It should not be surprising given its popularity, but there are multiple different makers of puzzles licensing this image. The one I did is here: Beatles Abbey Road 1000 Piece Puzzle made by AQUARIUS who do a lot of licensed image puzzles but at good quality. I was concerned as I’ve had some dodgy album-cover … Read more
