Puzzle: Birds of the Back Yard
Timely, this one, now that it is spring. Love puzzles that have this kind of layout with the birds named off to the outside of the frame. Lots of color matching here with fine detail – challenging in a good way

VIa Pomegranate, Édouard Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergere puzzle
From Serious Puzzles, this is a 1000 piece puzzle: Portland Lighthouse It’s Portland Breakwater Light aka Bug Light – didn’t see a photographer credit. Fun to do with multiple stright lights (horizon, fencing) and textured areas (stones, water, sunrise). Google image search shows lots of items with this image – maybe released into public domain?
From Cobble Hill, a 1000 piece puzzle featuring illustrations by Maurice Pillard Verneuil: Botanicals by Verneuil. Includes a reference poster and is well made.
Puzzle from Re-Marks: Scandinavia 750 Piece. Another Pomegranate Artpiece Puzzle, Diego Rivera: Detroit Industry 1000 pieces. Check out the full image from the Detroit Institute for the Arts: Detroit Industry North Wall. Looks like the color is a bit richer in the original – though the photo here is maybe a bit washed out – the puzzle itself looks great.
Illustration by Susan Brabeau, puzzle by SunsOut: Soda Fountain 1000 piece sunsout puzzle. Lots of great detail here – just enough to make putting it together challenging but enjoyable.

Another Eurographics puzzle, this time a dozen portraits of dogs by Lucia Heffernan: Funny Dogs. Not sure where I actually bought my copy. 1000 pieces, finished size 19.25″ by 26.625″ (19 and 1/4 x 26 and 5/8ths inches). Bright vibrant colors, and enough variations in textures to make it interesting – lots of great detail … Read more
Another one we picked up on a trip to Maine: License Plates by White Mountain Puzzles. Lots of colorful detail and high quality make – if (like me) you used to play the license plate game on road trips you may have an advantage. Maybe because White Mountain Puzzles made it, feels like there is … Read more
